Description |
"Gray's Ferry Bridge on the Schuylkill" is an exemplary topographical painting of Philadelphia of the early nineteenth century. The medium-high, eye-level view depicts a bridge spanning the Schuylkill River with a field in the foreground. A single-mast vessel floats to the right of the bridge. On the far side of the river, a road leads to a house and barn backed by a wooded area. |
